31 Day Yoga (Day 1) | FITNESS
Hello!
I'm back from two weeks in Mexico when the tacos and tequila were limitless and the sweltering heat scraped every ounce of motivation from me. That being said, it was glorious and I made sure to soak up every last drop (of sun, liquor, and cheesy quesadillas). Now that I am back home I am ready to begin anew and get back into a routine of yoga, reading, and writing - hence me striking up a blog once again.
Today was the first day of my personal 31 day Yoga Challenge in which I attempt to practice yoga for 31 days straight. My goals are to feel better emotionally and physically, and hopefully see some toning in my body. I purchased a year pass to my local hot yoga studio at the beginning of the year and got into it for a while before life got in the way and I replaced exercise with evenings at the bar - both relatively therapeutic but only the former is healthy. So here I stand, writing my plan as to be held accountable by the internet void
I have included a before photo not to shame myself or my body (I am attempting to break free from those clutches, but more on that later), but rather to see if I can notice the subtle changes I am bound to achieve if I keep up with my routine!
After a long day of serving brunch (it was mothers day and hella busy), it was a bit of a struggle to drag myself to the studio but boy was I glad I showed up! Getting back in the hot room felt incredible. With the room set to 38 degrees, I started sweating immediately and it was bliss. I am still detoxing from the alcohol and dairy so I struggled way more than I use to in the 'beginner' class but that was okay - the point is that you show up and do your best! As my knees buckled and shook and reminded myself to focus on my breathing and push through the tough parts.
Now I am sitting and writing on my deck and I feel so much more clear - mentally and emotionally! I cant wait for tomorrows class!
xoxo
