Jusu 3 Day Cleanse | HEALTH

Image
Jusu is a local company (well now it has expanded through western Canada) that sells organic juices, soups, smoothies, meals, and an array of beauty products. I have previously done one juice cleanse over a year ago through a different company after watching the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" on Netflix (which I would totally recommend). However back then I didn't really give it the best try and I would skip the morning juices because at that period in my life breakfast was the mortal enemy. So when I saw that Jusu was having a sale on their three day cleanse I jumped at the opportunity to try again and reset my system as I have been eating a lot of crap for months! That is one downside of travelling to the land of tacos and working in a greasy dinner where you are constantly tempted by hash browns (my favourite food group)! The Basics: I purchased the 'Deep Cleanse' over the 'Easy Cleanse' for the main reason of "why the heck not...

San Jose Del Cabo (Mexico) 2017 | TRAVEL

Image
My friend and I have been talking about travelling together since about a week into our friendship a year and a half ago. We both love to explore and discover new places and have a sense of wanderlust ingrained into our brains. So after a couple glasses of wine (and when I say glasses I mean bottles), I accidentally purchased a trip to Los Cabos instead of getting the quote I originally thought I was. Without any research or forethought it appeared that we were off to Mexico solely based on the fact that the resort had five bars. To be completely honest, I didn't even know if we were headed to the Pacific or Caribbean side until the inflight map showed us our destination. In the end those two cheap 10 dollar bottles of wine cost us a helluva lot.       After a quick layover in Calgary where we slammed a few caesars to get our fix before a Clamato drought was sure to hit after crossing over the Canadian border, we were flying high and giddy as hell...

31 Day Yoga (Day 4) | FITNESS

Image
After a very long and slow day at work, I really didn't want to drag my butt to studio for 6pm. This morning I was full of energy and up and moving by 745. I showered packed lunch and even made a smoothie for brekky (which is sort of a big deal for a chronic snoozer). However as the day slowly wasted away, I felt less and less energized and a typical wave of sadness washed over me. These are frequent happenings as I suffer from depression and a whole onslaught of mental illnesses - but really, who doesn't these days?       Despite all this, I thought about my challenge. 31 days in a row. It isn't that long in the grand scheme of things and I feel like I owe it to myself to keep up the progress. So I hopped in my car and headed father away from my house to Moksha. The moment I lay down in the hot room a calm read through by body. It sounds cheesy and cliche, but the instant I step into that space, my whole being is taken over and I experience a ...

31 Day Yoga (Day 1) | FITNESS

Image
Hello!      I'm back from two weeks in Mexico when the tacos and tequila were limitless and the sweltering heat scraped every ounce of motivation from me. That being said, it was glorious and I made sure to soak up every last drop (of sun, liquor, and cheesy quesadillas). Now that I am back home I am ready to begin anew and get back into a routine of yoga, reading, and writing - hence me striking up a blog once again.      Today was the first day of my personal 31 day Yoga Challenge in which I attempt to practice yoga for 31 days straight. My goals are to feel better emotionally and physically, and hopefully see some toning in my body. I purchased a year pass to my local hot yoga studio at the beginning of the year and got into it for a while before life got in the way and I replaced exercise with evenings at the bar - both relatively therapeutic but only the former is healthy. So here I stand, writing my plan as to be held accountable by the internet v...
